Review: Being by T.R.Mousner

"For elite extraterrestrial pilot EBN-Reyoz-X, awaiting rescue while hiding out in a trailer park in Lancaster, California, is a grueling nightmare. She’s injured, lacks proper supplies and can’t blend in with the indigenous population because she’s seven feet tall and can’t control the trail of wildflowers blooming in the wake of her footsteps. She’s unprepared to begin sexual maturity in the alien land and when she develops feelings for Shale, the mute teenage boy next door, she’s convinced circumstances can get no worse.
Except rescue never comes and once word spreads that her touch holds miraculous healing abilities, EBN must find a way to fix her ship, evade capture by the United States Air Force and survive long enough to return home. "

Review:

First of I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to the amazing Tamara for sending me her book to read! Tamara was the first author to approach me about reviewing her book and am very grateful to her. So Being, were do I start. First of I love the cover, I love butterflies so I love the picture on the front. Being is not like any other book I have read! I loved it! It's narrated though teenager EBN, her brother Aix and a mute boy called Shale.

EBN is a teenager from the planet Pharralax that finds herself crashed landed on Earth, injured and eager to return home. When EBN contacts her commander, her grandfather, for rescue home, he tells her to sit tight and gives her a mission to observe human behaviour while she is there but not to approach them. From the start it I liked EBN and I liked the ways of her people for protecting the environment etc. When she came to earth she had a straight forward point of view of us as humans that we fight among ourselves and don't look after our environment but I think she learns that there may be some humans like this but not all of us.

Shale is a 13 year old boy that has to help run the trailer park were EBN is staying since his mother's death and his father's disappearance. From then he has become mute, he won't utter a single word. He is suspicious ofEBN  from the start and in the beginning and is suspicious of EBN but also intrigued I think.

One of my favourite things about EBN is her abilities she has to heal. At the beginning of the book she heals a little girl who is in a wheelchair and then goes on to heal another woman who is dieing of cancer. Even though she knew she shouldn't do it, she did. This did attract lots of attention and people came to be healed but she felt she had to help. I think it made her understand a little bit that humans a little better.

There was so much more about Being I loved but I don't want to give to much away. I really enjoyed the book and can't wait for the sequel.
