Synopsis VIA Goodreads:

Norah has agoraphobia and OCD. When groceries are left on the porch, she can’t step out to get them. Struggling to snag the bags with a stick, she meets Luke. He’s sweet and funny, and he just caught her fishing for groceries. Because of course he did.

Norah can’t leave the house, but can she let someone in? As their friendship grows deeper, Norah realizes Luke deserves a normal girl. One who can lie on the front lawn and look up at the stars. One who isn’t so screwed up.

Review:

Under Rose Tainted Skies is not just any book it's a stunning book that looks at the effect of agoraphobia and OCD in a real way. Seeing Louise describe all the feelings Norah was having to deal with felt so real and it could only be portrayed though Louise's beautiful writing.

We are seeing though Norah our protagonist's eyes her struggle with agoraphobia and OCD and her struggle, to not overcome it as you can never fully overcome these things but to make the little steps she wants to make in her life. Though the help of Luke her next door neighbour and her mum who is such a support system to Norah you see her journey in a realistic and emotional way. The story was fast paced but did slow a little in the middle but picked right back up.

There is a romance within Under Rose Tainted Skies but for a person who typically loves a swoon worthy romance I just loved the way Lousie wrote it. You can really tell they really like each other  but Louise showed that she doesn't just try to overcome things because of a boy. It's's about a young girl and her journey and being accepted for who she is.

Louise Gornall's Under Rose Tainted Skies, is a stunning book that portrays mental health in a realistic way while being stunningly beautiful in its portrayal. A book that makes you think and feel.

  1. This is such a nice sounding book and a little different to some of the boy/girl next door books that are about. Thanks for sharing!
